This policy explains what information Product Overviews collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It covers our marketing website, the Product Overviews studio used by the teams at businesses who use our product, our Shopify app, and the shopper-facing widget that businesses embed on their product pages.
When you request a demo, sign up for early access, or contact us, we collect what you submit — typically your work email address, and any details you choose to share such as your name, company, or role. Brand-team members who use the studio also provide account information needed to sign in and operate their workspace.
When you use our website or studio, we collect standard technical and usage data — such as device and browser type, pages viewed, and basic interaction events — to understand how the product is used and to keep it secure and reliable.
When a merchant installs our Shopify app, Shopify authorizes us to access a limited set of store data. With the merchant's permission we collect:
read_products scope, we read product details (titles, descriptions, handles, vendor, tags, images, and prices) to build and keep in sync the AI product answers that power the storefront widget. We only request the permissions the app needs to function. We do not request access to Shopify customer records, orders, or payment data.
When a shopper uses a merchant's embedded widget, we process the questions they ask and the answers we generate so we can operate the service and provide the merchant with analytics. We also record aggregate engagement events — such as widget impressions, interactions, and add-to-cart actions — to help the merchant understand how shoppers use the widget. This information is associated with the relevant merchant's workspace, not with a shopper's Shopify customer account. We ask that shoppers not enter personal information into the widget, as it is intended for product questions.
We work with a small set of trusted service providers that help us run the product — including cloud hosting, data storage, and AI processing providers, as well as the platforms our customers install our app on. We share information with them only as needed to deliver the service, and under agreements that require them to protect it and use it solely on our behalf. Information sent for AI processing is not used to train third-party models.
We do not sell your personal information.
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, then delete or anonymize it. For Shopify merchants specifically:
shop/redact request (sent about 48 hours after uninstall), we purge the store's data from our systems.customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks. Because we do not store personal data tied to a merchant's individual customers, these requests typically have no customer records to return or erase.Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at the address below and we'll respond in line with applicable law.
We use essential cookies to operate the site and may use analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we'll revise the date at the top of this page.
